Many volunteers of all ages give of their time each year to put on the Green Fest.
There are the members of the Green Fest Committee – all volunteers – who work for months planning and coordinating the spring festival each year.
There are those who donate their time during the week prior to the event by helping collect and sort items in the Community Center for the popular community Gently-Used Clothing and Sports Equipment Swap.
There are those who generously donate their time on Green Fest Day receive free yellow volunteer T-shirts and perform a variety of chores, including:
Helping vendors set up their booths,
Handing out festival program guides,
Carrying signs and announcing program information,
Helping in the Kids Zone, Recycling Zone or the Swap pavilion,
Staffing the refuse/recycling/compost stations,
Parking vehicles in a nearby lot, and
Helping clean up after closing.
If you have a few hours to spare, sign up to be a volunteer at the ninth annual Boonsboro Green Fest on Saturday, May 19, 2018, and we guarantee you will get more than you give!
Volunteers must register by May 5, 2018. All volunteers, including students needing SSL (Student Service Learning) hours must sign up in advance. Volunteers cannot register the day of the event, according to Kathy Vesely, volunteer coordinator.
